En este artículo reflexionamos sobre el desarrollo de la historiografía relativa a la región Caribe colombiana producida por profesionales de esta disciplina durante el periodo transcurrido entre 1990 y el 2023. Nos interesa mostrar las circunstancias que determinaron la formación de la historiografía profesional sobre esta región, su consolidación institucional, las agendas de investigaciones abocadas, las relaciones entre la historiografía internacional y la regional, los énfasis en diversos aspectos de la historia regional y las interpretaciones sobre las características del regionalismo costeño. Al final señalamos aspectos puntuales de una posible hoja de ruta en las investigaciones.
In this article we reflect on the development of historiography relating to the Colombian Caribbean region produced by professionals of this discipline during the period between 1990 and 2023. We are interested in showing the circumstances that determined the formation of professional historiography on this region, its institutional consolidation, the research agendas undertaken, the relationships between international and regional historiography, the emphases on various aspects of regional history and the interpretations of the characteristics of coastal regionalism. At the end we point out specific aspects of a possible roadmap in the investigations.
