The following paper is a practicum report by an intern at the University of Cartagena. It is an account of how to increase students’ participation in the class by using Willis’ (1996) Task Based Learning framework, Oxford’s (2003) learning strategies, and cooperative learning theory (Slavin, 1982). Additionally, the idea of how by utilizing these approaches and strategies, it is also possible to raise awareness of the effects that not properly planning classes can have is explored.
