La violencia política en Colombia es uno de los mayores flagelos de su historia reciente. El asesinato de líderes políticos y sociales constituye uno de los episodios de las violencias en el país que con mayor atención debe atenderse desde la academia. El barrio Nelson Mandela en Cartagena de Indias es uno de los casos más emblemáticos en los que la violencia contra líderes sociales en contextos urbanos dejó profundas huellas en la memoria colectiva de sus habitantes. El presente trabajo pretende abordar los resultados de la reconstrucción de memoria de la violencia sociopolítica del barrio Nelson Mandela, a partir de los relatos y entrevistas a líderes sociales del barrio y algunos de sus habitantes, realizadas durante el proceso de reconstrucción de memoria colectiva en el barrio en el año 2016.
Political violence in Colombia is one of the greatest scourges in its recent history. The murder of political and social leaders constitutes one of the episodes of violence in the country that must be addressed with greater attention from the academy. The Nelson Mandela neighborhood in Cartagena de Indias, is one of the most emblematic cases in which violence against social leaders in urban contexts left deep traces in the collective memory of its inhabitants. The present work aims to address the results of the memory reconstruction of the sociopolitical violence of the Nelson Mandela neighborhood, based on the stories and interviews with social leaders of the neighborhood and some of its inhabitants.
