| spa |
dc.description.abstract | In this essay we propose an approach to a way of analyzing videos and other digital media as dynamic multimodal texts. The type of analysis proposed is multimodal and critical: first, the video is described as a form of text; second, that textual form is interpreted as a resource through which discursive strategies are planned; and, third, the way in which these resources and strategies build meanings related to some regional, racial, ethnic, sexist phenomenon, etc., in which social and ideological tensions underlie, is explained. In the descriptive dimension, we take into account the frameworks developed by Pauwels (2012) and Baldry & Thibault (2006). The first provides a sequence of stages to analyze the explicit and implicit meanings present in a multimodal communicative piece. The latter propose a transcription of multimodal texts that reveal the different types of semiotic resources that allow the construction of social meanings and the possible interrelationships between the constituent units of the video as a textual form. In the interpretive dimension, we follow the system of Kress & van Leeuwen (2006) relative, among others, to the forms of narrative and conceptual representation. Finally, to illustrate the explanatory dimension, we show the possibilities of analysis of a particular video. | eng |
