| spa |
dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Vascular neoplastic lesions of the small intestine are extremely rare entities, they are generally asymptomatic and diagnosis is both difficult and late given their exceptional presentation. Clinically they are characterized by symptoms such as gastrointestinal bleeding, abdominal pain, obstruction and intussusception. The diagnosis is fundamentally based on imaging and endoscopic diagnostic aids due to the non-specific symptomatology. Clinic case: this report presents a case of infectious mononucleosis due to Epstein-Barr Virus, which highlights a course of disease in an unusual age group, with compromised liver function that resolves with symptomatic treatment. Conclusions: Neoplastic vascular lesions of the small intestine are entities that are difficult to recognize; despite advances in imaging techniques, a large proportion are identified intraoperatively and in the pathological anatomy study. | eng |
