Caracterización microbiológica y molecular de patógenos emergentes: Anaplasma SPP, Babesia SPP y Ehrlichia SPP causantes de antropozoonosis en la ciudad de Cartagena 2015

dc.description.abstractLas zoonosis emergentes, son enfermedades infecciosas transmitidas por vectores invertebrados, que han cobrado gran importancia y continúan en expansión geodemográfica. Sin embargo, aún es desconocido el impacto de estas entidades en países tropicales como Colombia, donde el número de casos transmitidos por estos vectores se ha pronunciado de forma silente, con identificación de eventos fortuitos que han llegado, incluso, a ser letales. Por lo tanto, el conocimiento y comportamiento de estas entidades juega un papel crucial en la identificación de los casos y diagnóstico temprano a través de metodologías diagnósticas eficaces. Objetivo: Realizar la detección microbiológica y molecular de los patógenos emergentes: Anaplasma spp, Ehrlichia spp y Babesia spp, causantes de zoonosis y su caracterización clínica en pacientes de la ciudad de Cartagena en el año 2015. Métodos: Estudio descriptivo, transversal. Que evaluó las características epidemiológicas, clínicas, microbiológicas y moleculares de los pacientes febriles incluidos en el estudio previo consentimiento informado. Posterior a la toma de muestra sanguínea de los pacientes, el ADN genómico fue extraído, seguido de su cuantificación, valoración de integridad y pureza. La presencia de patógenos (Anaplasma spp., Ehrlichia spp. y Babesia spp.) fue analizada a través de la reacción en cadena de la polimerasa (PCR). Resultados: Fue recolectada la información de 175 pacientes, en quienes fueron identificados los microorganismos: Anaplasma spp. (2,7%) y Babesia spp (1,3%). Al análisis de la especie, dichas muestras, dieron positivas para A. phagocytophilum (1/2) y B. microti (1/1) respectivamente. Respecto a la detección microbiológica, fueron detectadas mórulas típicas en los neutrófilos (5,3%) y trofozoitos en forma anular y piriformes dentro de los eritrocitos (1,3%). Conclusión: este es el primer estudio que utiliza métodos moleculares en el Caribe Colombiano para determinar la presencia de patógenos emergentes Anaplasma spp., Ehrlichia spp. y Babesia spp. en humanos, constatando la prueba de PCR convencional como una herramienta sensible y específica para el diagnóstico y mandatorio ante pacientes con factores de riesgo asociados a zoonosis.spa
